Faydedar (Druid Epic)
|
Before the raid
There are 2 important things to check before you start a faydedar, these are:-
- Dolgin Codslayer is up for the handin.
- The non triggered vesion is not up otherwise hading in will not spawn the quest faydedar. I have unconfirmed information that both versions of faydedar drop the piece for hte druid epic.
Where
Faydedar is located in Timorous Deep, in a cove that can only de reached by swimming underwater. Any clerics in your guild probably know this place as parts of their epic need to be handed in here as well.
There is an underwater tunnel to enter the cove at n11300, n3500. Once inside the first wall you will see an inner wall, again with an underwater tunnel which is at the opposite side to the first one.
Obviously Call of the Hero will speed up the arrival of people if available.
See map for details
Grouping
Normal grouping applies for an aoe mob: tank, cleric, backup healer in each group keeping apart the main debuffing charaters and main assists so only 1 member of a group is likely to get and kind of melee attention.
Main Assist and Second Assist would also be handy to have a bard to further buff resistances. Putting a paladin or 2 with main assist is also useful as they can supply the first heals until MA has aggro. If fay makes a break for the healer
it then is at least a tank with better hp/ac than a cleric, druid or shammy.
Buffing up
Everyone needs 3 junk buffs, dosnt really matter what they are I picked see invis, soe, and either poison or diease resists. Anything with a descent duration will dot he job.
Once that is done start with the lesser melee buffs such as str, agi leaving any hp buffs to the end and finally resist magic and resist fire the last of them so they wont be dispelled.
Other Tips
Having a mage and druid there is useful. Obviously the druid doing the epic will be there so you need to find a mage to create resist items (blanket) for those that need to buff up their resists a little.
Druid need to cast circle of winter or circle of seasons on all members of the raid. With 30 people on the last raid noone was anywhere near oom so mod rods wernt necessary. EB stones or other clickable items are very important.
Each time the dragon debuffs one of your junk buffs refresh it using a clickable item this way it should never get to your useful buffs.
The Battle
Faydedar will start combat with a Dragons Roar (AOE Fear). We had our MA (60 Warrior) sitting on the beach close to the water to attract Fay more than the druid doing the hand in. No pets should be present before fay is spawned or they will attack as soon as the dragon casts its first aoe.
And noone else was sitting. Once your MA has enough aggro all melee can join in the fight, maybe 10-15 seconds into the battle. Once the dragon is down to 60% clerics and backup healers can start bringing their group back to full health. Secondary healer in the group is responsible for keeping their
cleric alive as well as topping up hps on all group members. Anyone DD casting on the dragon MUST be in melee range, if you cant hit it with your weapon you cant cast on it either the dragon will resist all spells cast from a distance.
With the 30 people we had for the raid between levels 45 and 60 (roughly half 55+) faydedar lasted a little over a minute and we suffered only 1 death.
