Umbral Planes
Kael is one of the more rewarding zones we have raided over the past several months. Over this time we have obtained a fair bit of quest armour and we are working to kitting out as many members as possible whenever we have enough people online wanting to raid. We normally meet at the WL side of kael, it is much closer to both the arena and the bank and dosnt need more than 3/4 giants killed to get to the first that will see through camo/invis.
There are 3 areas we have raided in the past and all have provided some quest drops.

The Arena

The arena is probably the easiest spot to hold, and drops all types of quest armour, normally the mobs around here are troopers and berserkers although, if there are sufficient people Protectors of Zek and the named giants on the way to Vindi can be taken as well.

The Bank

We normally setup camp to the south of the bank either just before or just behind the first giants that see through camo, around the area gleed spawns. As well as quest drops there area few other items here, Bow of the Hunter (Gleed), Cloak of Maelstrom(Dlammaz) and the higher level sentinals which we believe have a higher chance of dropping quest armours and can drop more than one per giant.

The Plate Room (9th Ring)

Recently we have added this area to those we raid. This is a triggered event that will begin spawning giants 2 at a time that come running through the doors at the back. This room does take a bit of organisation and a reasonable sized force. We quite comfortably managed this last time with 4 groups, each consiting of a 50+ melee, 50+ cleric and a 50+ backup healer, with additional melee and casters. Other guilds have confirmed receiving up to 3 pieces of armour from the giants that spawn here. Although we only got 1 from a couple of giants last time out. However these giants drop only plate armour, which is good in that our highest demand is for plate.

With the release of Velious 3 sets of quest armour were introduced for each class which one you can obtain based on which velious faction you chose to follow. Dwarves (Coldain), Giants (Kromrif/Kromzek) or Dragons (Claws of Veeshean). Legion of Vengeance are on Dwarf and Dragon fatction, it means we cant use kael as a city but it is a good place to raid for armours. Coldan and CoV factions are normally increased by killing giants although it does take longer to become an ally to CoV than it does coldain. Ally to Coldain normally means ally to CoV being as you kill giants to improve both factions, which in future will allow us to complete the ToV quest armour quests.

For first time raiders to Kael it might be worth having alook at this guide. It is important with kael that people turn up on time for the start of the raid, especially if they cannot get themselves at least as far as the fist mobs that see through invis/camo to be picked up. It is not fair to have someone repeatedly running back to the zone line to pick up late commers and invis them for the run.
